A small squad for today with an awful lot of injuries still and several players crying off at the last minute, but it was great to welcome back Ricky, to sign for us, after his hasty return from London !

The game started well for us with a 433 formation that was working well and early on John got away to go round their keeper who bought him down and unbelievably the referee booked John for diving, John is very smart in these situations but does not dive. We continued to have the upper hand and creating chances that we kept missing !! The pleasing thing was to get to half time and not conceded, we looked more solid than in recent times.

The second half started as we finished the first and from Ricky's speculative free kick, that came back off the keeper, J was on hand to put away. Ricky was subbed for Ste and we continued okay, we missed several other opportunities to put the game to bed. With just 3 minutes remaining they broke away and scored, after us trying to force it their end they counter attacked and for the first time really all game they caught us out. Very disappointing after what was a very rounded performance and it just proves one goal is never enough.

A match that needed to be won and yet again we created no end of chances and still only come away with a point, however we looked more solid at the back and the formation generally worked quite well, we must take this into the next game and hope we get a bit of good fortune, because it has not been with us since before Christmas.
